Library Lines #1

This is the first of many more columns from the Library to keep Henryetta's citizens informed. We'll tell you of new things you may not have heard of, old things you may not have heard of and anything else which needs to be told!

I will begin with a list of new titles in our collection:

Fame and Forgiven by Karen Kingsbury
The Preacher's Daughter by Beverly Lewis
Ordinary Heroes by Scott Turow
Fire Sale by Sara Paretsky
The Assassins by Oliver North
First Warning by Anne McCaffrey and Elizabeth Ann Scarborough
Ambler Warning by Robert Ludlum
The Regime by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins
S is for Silence by Sue Grafton
The Taking by Dean Koontz (Large Print Book)
Firestorm by Iris Johansen (Large Print Book)

We also have videos, CDs, DVDs and will very soon be adding books on tape and DVD and music CDs. The subjects range from children's movies to National Geographic to Oklahoma history and many other areas of information and entertainment.

We are also seriously making plans to revive our Adult Literacy program. We will be reorganizing and actively seeking tutors, getting training, and seeking new learners. If you are interested in volunteering to be a tutor, please call the Library and give us your name and phone number . We will organize a training session and start tutoring students as soon as possible.

Future issues will tell more of our plans for now and the future! Come see us! Since July 1, 2005, we have been issuing cards to residents of Okmulgee County at no charge. We just need a photo ID with your current address on it. If you don't have a card, come get one. If you have one and haven't used it in a while, come update it and use it again. Come see what we have!!! Ruby Wesson, Librarian
